Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time Huge Sale @ GameStop

FotoFlexer_PhotoI was just minding my own business this morning, browsing the GameStop catalog. And just when I think I’m through seeing all the games yet to be released, my eyes are caught by this beautiful deal. Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is $20 off with pre-order! I don’t see an “Online Only” tag, meaning that this deal should be eligible in-store too, but I recommend calling before a trip is wasted just in case. I’d call to confirm it myself, but GameStop over here doesn’t open for another 2 hours and this deal must be seen asap, because who knows how long it’ll be up. So hurry up and grab a pre-order because it’ll be a long while before this game will be at this price again. Don’t forget Sly Cooper is cross-buy, so buying the PS3 version entitles you the Vita version for free.

  1. So I saw this and I decided to check up on it. As it turns out, it would seem that Sony is giving you both the PS3 and Vita versions of the game for that price no matter what. *Insert fireworks of awesomeness on their part* I don’t know if it’s a promotional thing they might be doing for the release and if the price will go up later or not, so we will all just have to wait and see for it.

    • Yeah, I decided to pre-order it now, which I usually don’t pre-order standard versions of games, because I rather spend the $40 now than $60 later; and if it stayed $40, then I didn’t lose out anyways. And for the cross-buy, I both like and dislike it. In this case, I like it because it’s awesome that the Vita version adds functionality to the PS3 version. I dislike cross-buy if there isn’t any cross support because I don’t see the purpose for owning 2 versions of the game on Vita & PS3 when they are both the exact same game.

      • I really, REALLY hope that it isn’t a case where they think that it’s not going to sell very well so they dropped the price…I would hate to see a franchise like Sly Cooper suffer since it’s one of the best.
And I tend to agree on the cross play. I don’t have a Vita yet myself, and although I enjoy the idea of being able to have a portable version of something I like to take with me, there should be at least a few things that a different/more innovative between the two systems. But then again, this is something new, and I hope that Sony manages to make it much more than just “Here have this to take with you also.” (I was going to make a Zelda reference but I somehow managed to control myself.)
